The Dodgeball Academy UK was launched in 2018 to increase participation in sport  for children and teenagers. Dodgeball is one of the most rapid growing sports in the UK today with participation growing in competitive Dodgeball and school based extra curricular clubs. 

Due to high demand of Dodgeball in the area the Dodgeball Academy was set up in order to provide opportunity away from school sites for people of our local community to enjoy the sport with qualified coaches and in an affiliated club.

Equipment and Safety

Dodgeball may appear to be a high risk sport however it is often the total opposite. Dodgeball has no interaction or contact with any other player due to safety zones and the lay out of the pitch. The UKDA has spent countless hours to generate a set of rules which ensure the safety of its players. 

The equipment we use at DAUK has been approved and tested by UKDA and is of the highest quality and safety. The balls are designed to cushion on impact which makes their near impossible to cause any damage or injury to players. 

Our club only use UKDA approved equipment to ensure the safety of your child or young person.

 

Inclusion

All of our Dodgeball sessions are open to all children regardless of ability or gender. Our coaches are highly skills and will develop all areas of your child from motor skills to sport specific Dodgeball skills.

We offer an open door policy and will provide a high level of learning through lots of conditioned games designed to ensure your child has a fantastic time when visiting the club.

Our plan

To develop Dodgeball club's during the 2018/2019 season for children aged 7-11 years old and young people aged 12-14 years old. 

Through this club we aim to develop Dodgeball skills with a cross over to the national curriculum to help develop your child's school sport. The Dodgeball club will run once a week with children and young people learning the rules and tactics of the sport in order to form teams to take part in local and national events. The club will also run small sided in house competitions and have an end of season presentation providing a true club and community feel. 

Children will be split into groups appropriate to age and ability range when completing any contact based activity's.

Our future plans

To grow the sport and the club into neighboring town's Rugby and Northampton which will also be used for inter town fixtures along with an elite DAUK team to play in national events.

Memberships

We run our club on a membership basis. Memberships are charged at £21 per month and paid via direct debit at the start of each month. 

For your monthly membership you will gain weekly coaching sessions, In house events, cross club events, end of season presentation with added benefits for certain members as we develop.

We run our clubs 49 weeks of the year. We do not run sessions over Christmas and New Year, this is already accounted for in the membership price. Any weeks without sessions will be communicated to your directly by your coach.

Sibling membership for bothers and sisters is available as a joint membership at £37 per month

Teams

Each town we host dodgeball clubs in will have an age group based team along with in house teams for events in the club and across to other clubs to provide suitable ability level competition. 

Along with this we aim to develop an elite Dodgeball team which will consist of players from multiple centres.
